TODAY! Free Webinar: Digital Self-Defense 101 (RSVP Required)
7pm EDT/4pmPDT: Get up-to-speed on digital hygiene practices + the basics of VPNs, password managers, privacy browsers, 2FA/MFA, encrypted messaging & storage.
Tonight is the night! At 7pm EDT/4pm PDT, I’m running a free 101 webinar on digital security to help everyone up their digital hygiene. The event is free, but for security purposes I’m restricting access to those who RSVP, which you can do here.
This event is free for Reality Studies subscribers with RSVP:
In the webinar, I’ll be teaching a general set of best practices (e.g., data-sharing on iOS/Android, app-tracking, social media vulnerabilities) as well as what the following things are, why to use them, and how to set them up:
Encrypted messaging (Signal) and storage (Proton Drive, VeraCrypt)
VPNs (including which VPNs are better than others)
Password managers
Privacy browsers
Two-/multi-factor authentication (2FA/MFA), emphasis on apps vs. text messages
I’ll build in time for direct questions throughout. I want to be clear: these are the basics. No prior experience is required, and by the same token, you shouldn’t assume this is going to make you impervious to bad actors. It’s more apt to think of this as a digital first line-of-defense.
Again, please RSVP via Eventbrite—the link can be found here.
