I should preface these by saying I’m Canadian, so my perspective is a bit different, most notably that we don’t have ICE terrorizing ordinary people doing ordinary things. My heart goes out to you all. A very difficult situation. I personally think the orange menace is looking to create a situation where he can proclaim martial law and that’s the end of what you all know now.
Anyway, thoughts about article. If this happens, he gets Greenland one way or another, yes, NATO in its current form would cease to exist. No more USA as a member. However, I think the European members will reorganize. They will be stronger as a group, they’ll know this.
Whether or not canada would have a place, I don’t know. We are across an ocean, and right next door to the menace, with a large land area and a very long undefended border, most notably in the prairie provinces. Europe would give us moral support I’m sure, when the thing moves against us, but, frankly, considering the geographical realities, I don’t know that on the ground support would be a lot of help.
I’m also wondering what would happen to other things. Internet for one. I expect the biosphere issues to escalate madly as people scramble to protect themselves. The fate of whales and elephants and polar bears will be irrelevant if you’re trying to save your family.
I also think the realities of changing weather patterns, and the enormous largely unpredictable effects of the planetary tipping points we are crossing, will tip this whole situation into an unimaginable crisis for all life on earth.
I’ve thought for a long time that the US would destroy itself, imploding from the weight of its hubris and greed. It’s just happening much much faster and sooner than most of us thought.
The end of the US as an arbiter of how humanity conducts itself, is not a bad thing, in my opinion. What replaces it might be worse, but I think the planetary systems will rule the day and our grandiose ideas of mastery will be ground to dust.
In the meantime, the suffering of all life will be incalculable.

I’m curious what you think about the future of AI, the internet in general, if the destruction of the current world order goes ahead. You may have talked about this elsewhere, I haven’t read all your articles.

And, the crisis you are facing now is horrific. My heart breaks for all the beings who are suffering and dying needlessly. I hope there’s enough care in small communities to carry you through with some kindness.

And the big one that I didnt see mentioned that will add chaos no one yet understands? Climate instability affecting food, shelter, infrastructure, in short all life systems.
thank you for this explanation, my mind went a bit nutty thinking of all of the scenarios that could result, the most far fetched being, wouldn't this be exactly what a Russian asset or sleeper do to bring down the great United States and deliver it to the Russians? I think of all the non-NATO COCOM coalition nations, and all of our foreign bases with both military and civilian personnel, and embassy staff around the world and what could happen to them if their host countries retaliate. There has been an inference made that Ronald Lauder (sole Este Lauder heir and extremely well connected in world affairs, including Epstein) is who has planted the owning Greenland scenario in djt's brain. Again, is there a Russian or Israeli aspect to any of this???
