π Jesse sits down with renowned energy expert to discuss why energy is such a critical component of geopolitics & why 'energy blindness' is putting humanity at risk of collapse.
I have a couple of quibbles. Where does Berman get his figures on nuclear energy (at 1:24) According to the EIA, the 54 nuclear reactors currently operating produce 18.6% of US electricity. At that rate, another 30 reactors would raise this another 10%. Of course, we would have to build additional to replace those that age out.
Also, there are significant plastics that come from wood, including cellulose acetate and rayon.
